What’s New:
Netrendity Networks has signed a definitive agreement to transfer all properties identifying "The Rowing Channel" (TRC) to operate under a new independent company, the Watersports Broadcasting Corporation (WBC). Under the new organization, TRC’s content will be the inaugural portfolio of a new platform to be applied to other water and boating activity platforms in the months to come, bringing a new era of engaging and community-driven coverage to fans everywhere. This new venture builds on the foundation established by TRC over 10 years of ago with the goal to expand publication functions outside the limitations of what Netrendity could support and to connect our events with meaningful, sustainable, engagement and sponsorship. In summary, publication and production functions of TRC will be split to allow each side the potential to expand, enhance, support, and continue the coverage of the last decade.
About TRC:
First founded in 2014 by a trifecta of athletes between Orange Coast College and California State University, Long Beach, to pool resources to fulfill a gap of racing coverage, TRC has become a national and even worldwide figure over the last 10 years. Supported by volunteers from our partnering broadcast and venue organizations, TRC became a cooperative effort of west-coast colleges, universities, athletic conferences and rowing organizations around the nation.
"We believe that the best way to connect with fans is to involve them every step of the way," said Daniel JS McArdle, Co-founder and CEO of WBC. "From production to broadcast, TRC was shaped by the community it serves." Expanding the legacy of excellence in broadcasting by The Rowing Channel, the Watersports Broadcasting Corporation will partner with more community producer to standardize the production of rowing livestreams. "We are so excited to work with the top production teams in the sport to deliver rowing in engaging media of the highest quality, in a way that makes rowing fun for everyone to watch," said Whitney Powell, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of WBC.
About Netrendity:
Founded in 2010, Netrendity was on the set to always find the solution to what was perceived impossible through the right integrations that were economical, yet practical. Tried-and-true to its effort, since the inception of TRC, Netrendity developed the production operations that became a standard, bar-none in places including, but not limited to, the Sacramento State Aquatic Center, the Lake Lanier Olympic Park, Newport Harbor, Mission Bay San Diego, the Dexter Lake State Recreation Area, and the Vancouver Lake State Recreation Areas. Beyond its venue designs, Netrendity went on to developing VTS™, simply, the Video Transport System, a comparable alternative to several audio/video offerings in the industry, to function in places previously thought impossible to run. "The production efforts inside The Rowers Consortium and CrewCall over the last decade have lived up to challenge to become the standard in how we produce in these kinds of difficult environments that the rest often overlooked. We are going to continue these efforts with our current venues and WBC as they expand into other ventures." said Brandin Grams, Principal Engineer, Netrendity Holdings. "I have a tremendous respect for the team at WBC and am confident that TRC will live on in an even greater way."
What's Next:
As part of this transition, Netrendity will sign a Preferred Partner Agreement with WBC, which identifies Netrendity as the preferred system integrator for ten years and has the right to continue using the TRC brand in such broadcasts appropriate for WBC. Many aquatic venues throughout the Western United States will continue to work with Netrendity in current production functions and into other activities as they are parallel to the cause.
Other system integrators and production organizations are welcome to participate in WBC’s platforms and expand the coverage.
